The Jimboomba Thunder Rugby League Club, on the outskirts of Logan City and the Scenic Rim, was formed in 2004. It plays in the Gold Coast Junior Rugby League.
This proud ‘family orientated’ club is based at Jimboomba Park, Corner of the Mt Lindsay Hwy and South Street, in the Jimboomba township, and currently uses fields at Yarrabilba for training purposes.
It’s home ground, located alongside the Equestrian Centre, is known affectionately as the ‘Thunderdome’.
One of the highlights for players and families involved at Jimboomba Thunder is the annual Charity Shield played against the Beaudesert Kingfishers. Not only does this super event raise a lot of money for local charities, but it also attracts a frenzy of media and spectator support!
Famous for its Woman’s Rugby League teams and producing some outstanding female talent over the years, the Jimboomba Thunder currently offers playing opportunities for the following age groups.
The Jimboomba Thunder Junior Rugby League Club is working closely with Logan City Council to secure new facilities at Jimboomba Park for 2016 which includes change rooms, a second full playing field, Time keeper box, more shaded seating and fencing.
