Marsden State High’s reputation as a breeding ground for elite rugby league talent was further enhanced at Carina today following the announcement of the 2018 Met East Rugby League Team.
An incredible 7 young Makos, in fact, were selected in the regional rep side in front of a boisterous crowd of parents, friends and eager onlookers!
Playing in the blue and yellow strip for Logan in the U15 Districts Championships, the Marsden lads shone, wowing the Carina crowd into a frenzy with their passionate performances.
This saw Logan District finish the carnival undefeated and, according to Logan Coach Darren Johnston (Also Marsden), this contributed to the large number of Mako faces in the team.
Stars of our Year 9 and 10 Broncos Cup teams, the young Mako Men and their ME team mates will now battle it out in the State Championships in May, flying up to Townsville to take on the Sunshine State’s best U15 talent.
On top of a prestigious State Champs trophy up for grabs, the end result here for our ‘Black, White, Maroon’ contingent is a possible QLD jersey and a ticket to Sydney for the National carnival in July!
A massive congratulations to the following Makos on being named in the 19-player squad…
- Teapo Stoltman, Year 9 (See pictured above)
- Chambers Horua-Chase, Year 9
- Eli Tuli, Year 9
- Jeremiah Muld, Year 9
