Our Marsden State High School rugby league community is proud to announce that new RL Coordinator Mr Matthew Hartigan has been selected to represent Australia in Oztag in the inaugural Big4 Challenge!
Set to light up Sydney on March 3, 4 and 5, this exciting tournament will see Aussie teams battle the Australian Indigenous, Lebanon and combined Pacific Islands teams for supremacy.
Spicing up the contest in 2017, both Sri Lanka and Fiji have been invited to participate in the tournament in the Mens and Mixed Opens divisions respectively following their successes in the 2016 Emerging Nations competition.
A current Men’s Open NSW Origin representative, in a side which defeated QLD 3-0 in a recent series, Mr Hartigan (Pictured above right with former NRL referee Bill Harrigan) is thrilled to represent the students at Marsden in the Green and Gold!
Matches will reportedly take place at the Crest Sporting Complex in Georges Hall, Sydney NSW. No doubt Mr Hartigan will be in the thick of the action too, togged up in the Australia strip with the same PRIDE and PASSION shown by the Mako league boys.
On behalf of the MSHS League Community, best of luck to Mr Hartigan and his fellow teammates in the tournament! We’re sure you’ll do us proud!
